Dr Iain McGregor is an Associate Professor in Sound Design at Edinburgh Napier University, where he is Research Lead for Applied Informatics. His research brings together sound design, auditory perception and adaptive audio, with a particular interest in how audio systems can respond to individual listeners, listening contexts and perceptual needs. This work explores how an understanding of listening can inform the design, processing and evaluation of audio technologies, including perceptually adaptive audio, auditory displays and spatial audio.
